Legal notes, registration and pirate copies
Distribution
This archive is freely distributable in any form, provided that its contents
remain unchanged.
This archive can even be distributed within diskettes or CD-ROM enclosed with
magazines, as soon as the author is informed about this.
Registration
Developing X-Arc took us (me and the authors of the archive modules) a big
effort and a lot of time. For this reason I believe I can ask a small amount
of money to those who frequently use this program, as a kind of reward for our
job.
By paying the registration fee you will
be able to use X-Arc without any restriction. Currently, the demo version
doesn't allow to create an archive from scratch, and to add, delete or rename
files from an archive. Furthermore, every now and then some nice bubbles
remind you that you are using an evalutation version.
To register, you have to use the registration program enclosed, which also
provides every information about fees and how to register from each country.
Once you have received you personal keyfile, you have to copy it in s:, open a
shell and type:
libs:xarctools.library
This command doesn't produce any output, but installs your keyfile into the
system, unlocking the registerd version of X-Arc (which is a different
executable).
It is extremely important NOT to give to anyone neither your keyfile, nor the
xarctools.library, once you have performed the registration procedure.
I am available to create possible special versions (with minimal or no
restrictions) to be shipped together with magazines or commercial products.
X-Arc 100% cracked version?
X-Arc will very likely be cracked by clever pirates, as it's likely that
illegal keyfiles will be found on suspicious sites.
I strongly advise anyone against using those cracked versions or keyfiles:
X-Arc's protection is quite sophisticated, and even if everything seems to work
correctly at first, you will never know whether something unpleasant
may happen later.
The keyfile contains vital code for the program to work, so an non-original
keyfile could cause problems to X-Arc and to the whole system: even if
apparently everything works fine, you could end up with crashes or strange
program behaviour.
